Sweet pea seeds have very hard coatings and it is best to scarify them before planting.Use a sharp knife to chip the outer covering of the seed otherwise they seem to take for ever to sprout.Soaking in water for a day or two also helps the process.Once they get going in good conditions ,they do grow fast but in my experience, they need fairly cool conditions to bloom well.Temps of 60 to 65 F.Hope this helps.
