Do sweet pea vines thrive in Colorado?
Sweet Pea vines like cooler weather. As soon as ground thaws enough you can plant seeds and being in Colorado they should thrive.
Just keep them watered and deadheaded and they should last into the summer. ONce it starts getting really warm is when the plants will start slowing down. If you get really hot temperatures the plant will totally shut down.
I plant my sweet peas in pots and come late June or July I move pots in shadier spot and have to water more often. If you can get them to survive July and August...the plants may revitalize themselves and go late into fall.
Good luck!

My Sweet Pea is still not home, been 2 weeks 3 days, is there still hope?
My Quaker Parrot?
My Sweet Pea is still not home, been 2 weeks 3 days, is there still hope?
your quaker may come back there is never been a given time period of how long a pet bird can survive. Quakers are know to stay within 500 yards of the nest ( cage). also put up posters around your area letting people know sweet pea is lost. someone may have found him and taken him in. good luck and let me know how it turns out.
Reply:There is always hope until you give up hoping.
Reply:There is always hope, quakers are hardy little birds. I have heard so many stories of people loosing their birds, and then getting them back months later. One woman had lost an amazon, and it was found by someone else 60 miles away! Quakers are extremely smart birds too. They have wild colonies in several states: new york , new jersey, Texas, Deleware, conneticut and Florida (just to name a few). I'm not sure where you live, but in the wild they usually nest in urban areas, and near transformers and light fixtures (Like stadium lights). They have even been known to visit bird feeders with wild birds! We lost one of our quakers last year when we were letting the dog back in, and she flew out the door. We never found her but it was extremely cold the next day, and it snowed 4 inches. I like to think someone found her and took her in, it happens! Since you lost her while it's been warmer, she will be able to survive temperture changes and find food. I would make sure you put out flyers, run ads in your local papers, also there is a lost bird site on the net I will try to find again for you that goes state to state- for people that lose or find birds. Make sure you go to your local human society and bird rescues also and submit flyers to them, alot of people that find birds, take them there. Good luck - I hope she comes home....Okay the website to look on for found birds and to submit your lost bird is www.birdhotline.com , I put my quaker on here too when she flew away.
Reply:A Quaker is probably fine.
They can survive and form wild flocks in many northern cities.
As far as coming home, a feeder may lure him back.
Cover a quarter mile in all directions from your home.
Will he come to you? Use his favorite call.
Good luck but it's a longshot.

Just do all that you can. Go for walks near the place that he flew from and then go as far as you think that he would be able to fly. Call his name and make noises that he is familiar with. Even bring a toy that he really liked.
Knock on peoples doors and show a picture of him. Put up flyers that have a huge pic of him on it so when people are driving by they get a good glance at the bird.
Offer a reward. If you can't afford allot then offer as much as you can but don't put how much it is on the flyers
Go to the local market and talk to the checkers there to see if they know anything. People like to chit chat at the checkout.
Put an add in the regular paper and one in the freebie paper.
Put his cage outside in a real easy for a bird to see place and leave the door open. Early morning is a good time for birds to be moving around. Keep it out there day and night if you want to but you could be turning it into a bird feeder. So it might be better to bring it in at dark.
Call the bird rescues in your area and see of anyone has posted that they found him and leave a post that he is missing. And do the same with the animal control.
And most of all.....don't give up hope.
My dog that was my best friend and bud was gone one day...and I finally found him......5 months later. So do not give up.
That's all I can think of to do. When you talk to the animal shelters they may have more suggestions.
If you really, really want to see Sweet Pea again you will be doing all of these things. I'm not saying that this is 100% that you will get him back...but at least you know that you really did do all that you could possibly do to get him home.
But don't feel bad if you don't get him back. If this happens then it is way more than likely that someone has him and he is ok....just not home.
Good luck...and I really hope your Sweet Pea comes home.
Reply:if it flew away forget it. Tame birds get disoriented when they get free out of doors. It is miles away!! Quakers are notoriously independent. They survive well loose. Most major cities have groups of them living in colonies. Even Chicago!! and it gets 20 below zero in the winter there. He/she may have already found a mate and be living a happy married life.

Is sweet pea soup any good whats the best recipe for it?
If you go to food network web site I've seen it made on Barefoot Contessa and Everyday Italian. Basically, sautee chopped onion and/or leeks, add stock and peas, puree with a stick blender or in a blender pour back into the pan and add a little cream. They both used frozen green peas, I believe, because they are the next best thing to fresh. I haven't made either yet, but I've been thinking about it.

hey whasup !
i think your looking for SPLIT PEA soup
fairly simple dish
brown some bacon ,chopped onions, tomato ,garlic drain and add stock or jus water add dry peas to stock ,bring to boil , reduce heat ,cover and simmer till peas are soft season with salt... you can also add some ham for an extra.
Reply:Easy Sweet Pea Soup
20 min | 5 min prep | SERVES 3 -4
Ingredients
1 (12 ounce) package frozen peas
water, to cover
1/2-1 cup chicken broth
1 pinch sugar
1 dash nutmeg
salt
pepper
1/4 cup sour cream
Directions
1Cook frozen peas in a saucepan with water; cover and cook until peas are very tender (but not overly wrinkly).
2Then drain and whir the peas in the blender or food processor until soup-like in texture, adding the chicken stock as necessary (you want a nice thick soup).
3Take whirred peas from blender and put back into the saucepan, adding the pinch sugar, nutmeg, and salt/pepper.
4Heat through.
5Swirl a little sour cream into each serving, and this dish looks and tastes great!
6Makes 3 to 4 servings.
7You can add a little bit of minced onion in, if you like, and a few sliced mushrooms are good, too.
Reply:Sweet peas are flowers.
Try green lentils, boiled in water or chicken stock.
Proportions are not critical, try 3:1 liquid to peas.
You can add a little diced carrot %26amp; celery for flavour.
Reply:boil one pots of water, make sure its boiling pour in the peas blanch for few minutes or soften strain the peas and cool down in cold water. blend and strainthe peas. heat up the soup season w salt and pepper and lastly cream abit if love abit mint can put in few mint leaf and blend w it
Reply:The first answerer is right that sweet peas are flowers, but maybe you're referring to the sweet tasting sugar snap peas or snow peas. I use dried green peas for soup and just use the recipe off the back of the bag. For sugar snap or snow peas, they're delicious in a stir fry or simply steamed and served as a side dish with a little salt and butter.

Can sweet Pea survive in upstate NY?
can you tell me the conditions it needs to survive please
Can sweet Pea survive in upstate NY?
Some Sweet Peas are annuals and some perennial and both do well here in "Gods tantrum climate" North Dakota, so I'm sure they will grow in your tropical climate! I've found that they like to be planted a little deeper than the package recommends and the perennials ones like the south side of my house. RScott
Reply:They are annuals.
Reply:Sweet pea is an annual, so you would just plant it fresh each spring. I had some come back in my garden here in Maine, but it was a really warm winter and I wouldn't count on it happening again! You can sow the seeds early because they'll tolerate a mild frost. They like a little bit of shade in the afternoon. Where hydrangeas flourish, sweet peas will be happy too.
Reply:not normally because they are an annual, but i have seen a perennial sweet pea in a catalog.

My sweet pea plants leaves turn brown from the bottom, I am told it is leaf scourch, what is the answer.?
It does sound like leaf scourch... do you water your plants when it's sunny out? Instead to it at night. The water on the leaves of the plant are acting like a magnifying glass and burning them... ouch!
My sweet pea plants leaves turn brown from the bottom, I am told it is leaf scourch, what is the answer.?
I have the same problem with my Morning Glories, what I have found to do is in the evening water them and then take a squirt bottle and mist the leaves. It has helped alot. Report It

Sweet pea plant, when is the best time to replant from one pot to another?
Sweet peas are ready to be moved out of their pots when about three/four inches high.
I assume that you've sown them 3 seeds to a 4-6 inch pot.
They will transplant readily into the ground or large pots/hanging baskets. When they've reached about a foot high pinch out the leading growth tip to encourage side shoots and more flowers.
Uprights need a net or canes for support but trailing varieties can be left to their own devices.
Don't plant out until danger of frosts in your area have passed

Sweet pea and cosmos seedlings are falling over. May they be staked? What to hold them to the "stake"?
You can bang a ceder stake in for the cosmos and tie it with a soft garden string. the sweet pea I put a stake in at each end of the planting and put chicken wire from one end to the other. the sweet pea will cling to it put will need help to start if its already falling over.

Rutabega and sweet pea planted on cotton in 2 different cups?
Ok... so now they have sprouted.... cute little baby leaves.... should I re-plant the ROOT part of them in my backyard and leave the leaves on the surface of the soil? because i want peas and rutabegas to grow on them.... thanks.
Rutabega and sweet pea planted on cotton in 2 different cups?
. It sounds like you intend to cut the plants in half and just re-plant the roots!
??
Or are you saying it's an option to re-plant the whole thing, leaves and all, IN the ground? hhmmm .
If the roots are intertwined in the cotton, plant that 'bulb' just far enough in the ground to cover the roots.
Info from the 'seeds' site: "...Plant rutabaga seed outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked. Plant in rows 2 feet apart, spacing rutabaga seed 1 inch in the row. Cover seed with 1/2 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until rutabaga seeds start to grow.
When rutabaga plants are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin to 10 to 12 inches apart in the row." ..

My cat activley seeks out fights.. but she is just a sweet pea...?
WHAT do we do.. we have a cat that she tolerates but with anything else she will go ape crap... she is also very sweet to humans... what do we do??
My cat activley seeks out fights.. but she is just a sweet pea...?
She's probably protecting her territory...is she spayed? Maybe if she isn't she's fighting over the guys!!!! She sounds like you let her outdoors, if she gets beat up it could be expensive for you. She probably gets aggravated with other cats roaming around where she lives....good luck.
Reply:if you have any other animal, besides the amiable cat, in the house, i suggest keeping it(the other animal) and your cat in separate rooms, or if your cat is outdoors, assure that it is outdoors before letting anything else into your house. She might just be territorial, which isn't uncommon

How big of a pot does a sweet pea vine plant need?
I planted some seeds in the little red plastic cups, and they're doing good! I've never really planted anything before, and i wanted to grow some things on my balcony. How big of a pot should i transport them to? And when? Any tips on growing sweet peas would be awesome!
How big of a pot does a sweet pea vine plant need?
123,
you should be able to transplant your sweet peas if you do it before they get too leggy. The roots on these plants are surprising thin, but plentiful and don't need a heck of a lot of space... 5 gallon would be plenty. Since you're gorwing in a controlled environment, you'll have to pay closer attention to the watering needs, and I would give the plants some general fertilizer peridoically.
Remember too, peas are somewhat of a cool weather plant, so avoid long periods of time in direct, hot sunlight.
good luck
Reply:5-10 gallon pot. You will need a trellis too. They might not transplant well though.

Where can I find decorations and plates for a sweet pea or peas in a pod baby shower theme?
This is the theme for a baby shower I am throwing for my friend who is pregnant with twins. Either 2 Peas in a Pod or Sweet Peas.
Where can I find decorations and plates for a sweet pea or peas in a pod baby shower theme?
You know, www.ebay.com usually has a lot of everything. And I couldn't find the decorations and plates but other favors and stuff, you could buy or get ideas from and make them yourself at home!
You could make %26amp; print out your own invitations, thank you cards %26amp; favors with peas in a pod graphics that you can download from the internet. As for the plates, cups %26amp; decorations (buy green everything)...you can print out those same graphics and paste them to the outside of the cups. Make a banner with those same graphis on both sides of the sign that say "baby shower" or "Congratulations (name of person)". Get balloons with pea in a pod %26amp; make a diaper cake with that same theme decoration.
I did find a site where they have pea in a pod lots of stuff and you can match that with some plates, cups, napkins..etc that have a pregnant woman in them...real cute.
Good luck %26amp; have fun!! God bless.
Reply:The simply baby stuff website has a lot of stuff, invitations, decorations, gifts, ect. It is a nice site for you to get ideas. Just use "pea pod" or "pea in the pod" in the search bracket. Click more results at the bottom and you can see all they have to offer you.
For room decorations, you could always search your local craft store's scrapbooking section for pea pod pics and such.
Good luck!

Can you grow and maintain Sweet Pea flowers indoors?
I love Sweet Peas but the harsh sun in my area (no large tree in the yard) is terrible for plants. Does anyone know if I can grow them successfully indoors and not move them outside? I have a green thumb but this climate is a challenge. Also, the same goes for bulb plants. Can I grow those indoors? I love gladiolas but they just burn in the sun and the back yard does not have enough light (covered porch) Thanks for the help.
Can you grow and maintain Sweet Pea flowers indoors?
They are a cool season plant. In KY, I plant them in march. By June, they've pretty much pooped out.
I doubt they would do well indoors, and they DO attract aphids like crazy. Wouldn't want those in your house.
Have you tried planting on the north side of your house?
Good luck!

I have bought some sweet pea seeds - a variety that will do well in hanging baskets..........?
How should i go about growing and planting the seeds from the start to make sure they grow beautifully?
Should i use a particular typre of basket?
Any other tips for sweet peas in hanging baskets?
I have bought some sweet pea seeds - a variety that will do well in hanging baskets..........?
Sweet pea seeds can be started early. They are cold tolerant and do better with cooler temperatures. Depending what zone you're in ....I'm in midwest and start sweet pea seeds in April. If you are in more mild climate you can start them much earlier.
Soak seeds overnite. Use good loamy soil MIX in pots...not potting soil or black dirt. Fill up your pot about half full...water soil in good. Place seeds on soil and cover seeds w/half inch of potting mix.Place in sunny spot outside. Once your seedlings emerge and start growing up keep filling in potting mix around the seedlings. This will reinforce the vine base and make them sturdier. Fertilize early before sweet pea starts flowering. Too much fertilizer means you will have more vine and foliage and less flowers.
Keep flowers cut off and dead head spent flowers and your basket should last a couple months.
Sweet peas are not heat loving plants so if temperature startsclimbing put baskets in shadier spot and keep soil moist at all times.
I grow them in all kinds of pots and window boxes and have had good luck with them.Use good potting mix like miracle grow potting mix or similiar products. Makes all the difference.
Not sure what zone you are in the UK...the main thing is not to plant your seeds until the temperature stays above 40 degrees for a couple weeks before planting.
Reply:Get a large basket and good potting soil. Start the seeds in the basket, sweet peas don't like to be transplanted. You will have to water them more often because they are in a basket. In the hot dry days you may have to water twice a day..feel the basket, if it is light water it..If it's heavy don't.

Sweet pea question?
Sweet peas are one of the easiest flowering annuals to start from seed because you can direct seed them into the garden. Give them a site with full to partial sun and deep, rich, loamy, moist, but well-drained soil. Add plenty of organic matter (compost, well-rotted manure, leaf mold, or humus) to enrich the soil and make it easier to work.
This annual climber is most successful when you start the seeds during cooler seasons. In the warmer parts of western North America, you can sow the seeds from August on to maximize winter and spring flowering. Although sweet peas can be killed back by hard freezes, they are reasonably cold hardy and can take frost without much damage to plants. In western regions with cooler night temperatures bloom time will extend further into the summer months.
In the drier and colder mid-west and the colder parts of Canada, start sweet peas early indoors for transplanting into the garden, or sow them directly into the garden very early in spring.
In the American south, you can sow seed in November or December for early spring flowers.
Sweet peas need about 50 days of cool temperatures – under 60ºF (15ºC) to bloom gloriously in your garden.
Although the seeds have a hard seed coat, there's no evidence that soaking them before sowing will increase your germination rate, however, carefully nicking the outside seed coating does speed and increase germination. You can easily do this by using a nail clipper to score the seed coat.
Sweet pea seeds will germinate in soil at temperatures of 55º to 65ºF (13º to 18ºC). In cold winter areas, plan to sow them outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked – up to six weeks before the last frost date.
Plant seeds in holes that are about two inches deep. Drop two to four seeds per hole, with holes spaced four to six inches apart. Water thoroughly and keep soil moist until seeds have sprouted. You should see germination in about 10 to 21 days.
Once the seedlings are growing, water regularly to promote strong, healthy growth. When the seedlings are three to four inches high, thin them out, leaving the most vigorous-looking plants four to six inches apart. Once the plants have been thinned, mulch them well; a four- to six-inch layer of organic mulch will keep the roots cool and extend the growing season.
Sowing seeds each week over several weeks will further extend the time you get to enjoy their flowers.
Avoid over-fertilizing or you'll wind up with lots of green leaves but few flowers. A sprinkling of balanced 20-20-20 slow release fertilizer or generous shovel of compost or well-rotted manure blended into the soil at planting time works well for initial plant development.
Alternatively, organic fertilizers are also excellent for sweet peas. Additional mulching with composted manure will help retain soil moisture and provide nutrients for strong plant growth and flowering.
If you don't cut blooms regularly, deadhead the plant as soon as flowers fade. Removing spent blooms will give you more flowers.
Reply:One inch deep will do it.

Who is the little girl Tommy Roe sings to in the music video "Sweet Pea"?
In 1966 there was a song called "Sweet Pea" by Tommy Roe. There is an old black and white video with him singing it and he has a bunch of kids around him. I believe the show was a children's program but I am not sure. Does anybody know who the little girl was that Tommy Roe was singing to? She looks very familiar, maybe an actress now. The video itself is on the "YouTube" website under the name "Sweet Pea". Alot of people have wondered(including myself)if the little girl is his daughter or not. Thank you for any help here from Yahoo members!
Who is the little girl Tommy Roe sings to in the music video "Sweet Pea"?
just from observation by watching on youtube, I would say it is his daughter that he's singing to. especially since she seems so familiar with him and knows all the lyrics too.

I need a good line drawing of a sweet pea flower for my prospective tattoo.?
Anyone know where I can find a clear drawing of a sweet pea flower? I want to get a tattoo and I want to walk in there prepared and not be like some stupid girl who has "no idea what I want".
I need a good line drawing of a sweet pea flower for my prospective tattoo.?
First off you wouldn't be "some stupid girl". Many people go to their artist with an idea, describe this idea to them, sometimes bring many pictures of the idea they have in mind, and let the artist draw them a custom tattoo. So you wouldn't be stupid. I'm sure the artist has internet access and can help you pick something out right there and even tweak it better to your liking.
Trust me you'll be a lot happier with this route, than you would be with a generic tattoo you picked on the internet! ;)
Reply:go to the library and get a book on flowers
Reply:I would let the tattoo artist know what you want and design something for you. They are more creative then the average Joe.

What support do I use to make sweet pea plantlet climb around a tree, they are 5 cms tall & have no support?
I have planted sweet pea seeds around the circumference of a fully grown cherry tree. right now they have sprouted and are 5 cms tall. what kind support do I need to give them. I am trying to wind them around twigs which I dig in near them. but this is temporary.
What support do I use to make sweet pea plantlet climb around a tree, they are 5 cms tall %26amp; have no support?
I would purchase this trellis netting product and loosely staple it to the tree. The staples won't harm the tree since they will only go through the outer bark. I've used it along a fence before for my sweet peas and it worked out great.

Reply:You could also use garden twine with nails. use scrap wood to make a stake, put a small nail into the top of the stake to tie the twine. Tie the end of the twine to the nail and hammer the stake into the ground next to the plant. run the length of twine up the trunk and tie off to another nail. Report It

Guys- do you prefer banana scent or sweet pea scent?
banana smells, well, like banana and a flower, sweet pea smells a bit like a sweet cross between a rose and carnation
on a girl that is. thanks
Guys- do you prefer banana scent or sweet pea scent?
I'm not guy, but I don't like either scent, particularly the banana. The only time I like to smell banana is if I'm eating a banana.

Personally I prefer Juniper Breeze.
Reply:It all depends on your personel feelings toward it. I believe that each girl or woman has their own scent, it makes them different from everyone else...If Bananna doesn't fit, than try the other...We don't care about scents anyway, just how a woman/ girl carries herself....

Which is the best between Sweet Pea and Moonlight Path of Bath and Body Works?
I know they both smell good but which is the best? When compared to Body Shop, what scent in BS can be compared to Sweet Pea and Moonlight Path? So I can have an idea. My friend is asking me to choose between the two but I haven't (don't have time) tried checking the mall to personally check the two.
Thanks!

I'm not a fan of either, but Moonlight Path is the better of the two in my opinion.
I prefer Japanese Cherry Blossom.

It depends on what you like moonlight path is a little stronger.
If you want something less people own go for moonlight path.

Reply:Well, it really depends on what you like. Sweet pea is sweet, fresh, and flirty while Moonlight Path is soothing and sophisticated(like lavender). I have to say, Moonlight Path to me smells more like perfume.

Does Bath & Body Works have sweet pea shampoo?
I have their sweet pea shower gel, but have never really looked for shampoo. If B%26amp;B doesn't, does anyone else?
Does Bath %26amp; Body Works have sweet pea shampoo?
Yes, they do! Bath and Body Works carries Sweet Pea Volumizing Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner. The scent of violets mingling with sweet pea petals is heaven on earth, and the inspiration for this delicate fragrance. The shampoo and conditioner are part of Bath and Body's Works Signature Collection and are priced at $7.50 each. And the store is having a huge Spring sale right now, so if you buy 2 you will save $5.00
Sweet Pea is a nice smell and would be fun to wash hair with. Hope that helps you out.

Where to buy caldrea sweet pea laundry soap? Not online?
I am looking for a store that carries Caldrea sweet pea laundry soap that isn't online. The listings they give me on the website don't answer their phones.
Where to buy caldrea sweet pea laundry soap? Not online?
I haven't found it at any retail store. I get mine at amazon.com
You'll have better luck there.

Where can I buy Sweet Pea wine (it is a brand)?
I bought this very cute bottle of Sweet Pea wine at the grocery store once and can't find it anywhere since. It's like there was ever only one bottle in the whole world! I think it was apple/peach flavor.
Where can I buy Sweet Pea wine (it is a brand)?
Online of course
http://www.preceptbrands.com/wines/Sweet...
Reply:Yep. Precept Brands concieved Sweet Pea Wine and its package illustration as a brand targeted to women seeking new and different kinds of wines. It's a sweet apple and peach wine that's light and flavorful. As indicated it can be ordered directly from Precept Brands. I'm sure they would be more than happy to tell you where you could get their products (sold mainly in grocery stores) if you contact them at info@preceptbrands.com or by phone at 206.267.5252

3 questions about sweet pea?
I have a seed packet of Streamer Mixed Sweet Pea. It says on the packet that it will grow to 6 feet tall but it doesn't give any other information except plant spacing which is 6 inches.
1. Would I be correct in assuming this one a vining variety?
2. How far can I expect it to spread out?
3. If it is a vining variety, will twine be strong enough for it to climb?
Thank you
3 questions about sweet pea?
Most sweet peas are viners. The 6 ft is the average for the variety you've chosen, plant doesn't grow out only up. Twine isn't the best since it is less likey to stand the weight and weather over time. A trellis or garden gate is a better solution for a long term situation whether for decorative or kitchen garden purposes (since they'll seed and grow back). We had them growing wild by one of our previous houses, so support isn't necessarily a needed requirement for these plants. It's more about their purpose and how you want them displayed.
Reply:if they take they will grow very beautiful and wild.I planted some in my backyard and they are beautiful..Read the back of packet and it will tell you the directions.you can put a stick there but i had no problems they did it themselves.

Selling sweet pea plants?
hi,
i would like to know how i should go about selling my own nursery produced sweet pea plants. they are all organically grown and supplied in trays of either 5, 10, 20 or 40.
where would be the best place for these to sell and what price do you think they will sell at (trade price)?
regards,
matt
Selling sweet pea plants?
I hate to say it, but sell them cheap and FAST! If you don't unload them quickly, they will entangle each other with the tendrils. Here in the N.E., savvy gardners know that sweet peas are grown very easily from seed, and won't spend much for them. I'd get rid of them before you have to up-pot and provide staking. Think about planting them, and selling the cut flowers.
Reply:your best outlet would be at car boot sales, hopefully you have already planted the sweet pea's in pea tubes, when the first shoot reaches six inches long pinch out the tip as the flowering laterals grow from the base of the plant.
Good luck with you venture.
Reply:garage forecourt, £1.25 for 5
Reply:Sweet peas don't transplant very well, they're best direct seeded in the garden where they germinate and grow readily...but good luck, hope you can unload them before they are unusable.
Reply:You need to get some volume sales as soon as possible, so:
Car Boot sale; Sell to a market trader (you'll need to be up early!); sell at a local farmer's market; make a small display outside your local Londis / post office on some bread crates or approach any independant greengrocers in a larger town; local florist?; sign outside your house/gate? free ad in the local newspaper or Friday Ad; get in touch with local school PTA and see if you can send an order form home with the kids and donate 30-50% of any sales back to the school... I do hope you find new homes before they tangle up! Good luck :-)

What does the Sweet Pea Bath and Body Works fragrance smell like? Can anyone describe it? I already have .....
the Japanese Cherry Blossom line and I like it but it's a little too strong for my taste (and also my husband didn't like it all that much either, he said it was really strong and gave him a headache after a while). So I've heard alot of people's favorite is the Sweet Pea one - I don't have a Bath and Body Works anywhere near where I live, so I can't just go in and smell them all to see which I like, I have to actually buy some online (usually from eBay) and then see if I like it. So is the Sweet Pea line more subtle than the Japanese Cherry Blossom?

Fragrance Top Notes: Sweet Pea, Watery Pear, Logan Berry, Rhubarb
Fragrance Mid Notes: Cyclamen, Freesia, Raspberry
Fragrance Base Notes: Musk
Reply:All I can say is it is like heaven. It's my favorite! Very sweet smelling, not sure how to describe it, except maybe that it's like a cross between the smell of sweet nectar and sweet grass. Yeah, basically like heaven. I don't know about the cherry blossom so I can't compare it.

Amos Lee - Sweet Pea?
I'm confused, is what he's saying
"Sweet Pea, apple of my eye"? or "Sweet Pea, Pebble of my eye"? I check the lyrics and it sais Apple of my eye, but when I listen to it normally, it sounds like pebble, but when I listen to it very closely... it STILL sounds like Pebble
Amos Lee - Sweet Pea?
Artist: Lee Amos
Song: Sweet Pea
Album: Supply And Demand
Sweet pea
Apple of my eye
Don't know when and I don't know why
You're the only reason I keep on coming home
Sweet pea
What's all this about
Don't get your way all you do is fuss and pout
You're the only reason I keep on coming home
I like the Rock of Gibraltar
I always seem to falter
And the words just get in the way
Oh I know I'm gonna crumble
I'm trying to stay humble
But I never think before I say
Sweet pea
Keeper of my soul
I know sometimes I'm out of control
You're the only reason I keep on coming
You're the only reason I keep on coming yeah
You're the only reason I keep on coming home

Project Runway: Sweet Pea Returns?
I was looking at the site, and even though we have, after last night (the reunion episode, which I DVR'd and havesn't seen yet), still another couple episodes before the winner is chosen.
Anyway, last I knew Sweet Pea was eliminated, then I look online as see that she has a collection and shows at Bryant Park. WTH? I mean, why not just tell me who won too? And how did Sweet Pea get back on? I agree that she deserves it, but what is the point of the competition if they don't even follow their own rules? Its supposed to be 2 people that make it to Bryant. Last year they couldn't choose and made it 3. This year, they still couldn't choose, made it 3, changed their mind, and upped it to 4? Its getting sort of pointless I think.
Anyone else have on opinion here?
Project Runway: Sweet Pea Returns?
The final five were all allowed to put on shows at Bryant Park, but only three will have their shows on TV. They do this so no one can spoil who the final three are, prior to the shows airing (Fashion Week had already happened, at that point). I believe they have done this every season. And, every season iit is supposed to be 3 finalists. There were four last year - Uli, Michael, Jeffrey and Laura. This year, they seemed to have to same dilemma - they couldn't, in good conscience, dump either Chris or Rami, since they are both very talented designers with very different aesthetics. This extra final challenge for the two of them is new.
Reply:E! channel let it go last week, the winner is designing a dress for the Oscars and E! named the winner. The winner has been revealed! I am so upset about how this season unfolded, my only question is how, and why is Sweet pea back? Sympathy? I don't want to spoil it for you so I won't, but I'm sure you can look it up if you are curious!!
Reply:Each season has had a designer create a decoy collection. Perhaps Sweet Pea was allowed to back to do this. I think though there is only 1 or 2 more episodes left to air this season. One is the runway show and maybe one where Tim visits the finalists' homes.
Reply:Season 1 there were three
Season 2 there were three
Season 3 there were four
This season there will only be three Chris and Romi have to battle it out for the spot, spoiler-wise i don't think sweet pea comes back for bryant park but i don't know
they like to keep twists and thats why they change their rules
Reply:Project Runway always has a decoy that participate in the Bryant Park show. There were two decoys, and Sweet Pea was one of them. Next week, we will find out between Chris and Rami who the other decoy is. Although, they were allowed to showcase their designs at Bryant Park, they are not competing to win the money or title as the Project Runway winner. They have decoys to prevent spoiling who the 3 remaining designers are.
Reply:Bryant Park isn't affiliated with Project Runway, meaning any one can show a collection there.
Remember when Kevin (the big straight guy) got kicked off? He stated that he was going to show at Bryant Park anyhow. There were non PR finalists who had a collection at Bryant Park last year also.

Another sweet pea question?
a few weeks ago i was rather worried my sweet peas were not flowering now they have started to and some have actully got some pea pods on them is this suppossed to happen
Another sweet pea question?
take the pods off unless you want to get seed for next year, you will get more flowers if you take the pods off.
Reply:It is normal, but if you want more flowers you must take off all the dead flowers
Reply:You should pinch the flowers off after they have gone past their best as the plant puts its energy into making the pods, rather than more flowers! Extend the flowering time by doing this and you'll have more flowers to enjoy.
Reply:Do you mean are they supposed to get pods? yes, and it's dissapointing that the flowers don 't last longer.....
Reply:Yes they are meant to have pea pods on them.....they have the new seeds in them! You can either leave them on the plant and they'll naturally dry out, split and scatter seeds on the ground for next year or you can wait until they go really brown and dry and pick them off (just before they split) to save until spring when you can sow them yourself. They take longer than you expect to dry out but keep an eye on them!
As for the flowers, if you cut the flowers (put indoors in little vases) it encourages the plant to flower even more! Don't cut them all off though, you want some left outside to look at!!!
Reply:yes that is normal

My sweet pea finally bloomed today?
my sweet pea finally bloomed today, with pink red and purple sweet smelling flowers. this is the first time i had them, i want to plant about 5 packets of them next year. how can i make them grow fast, and bloom fast? my sweet peas are only about a foot and a half tall, and i planted them in late may. thanks.

What variety of sweet peas did you plant, some just don't get very tall.
Fertilizing always helps, regardless. Try Alaska fish fertilizer, it's nasty smelling but it works wonders, just follow instructions on the bottle!

Sweet pea tattoo?
I am going to get a sweet pea tattoo. If someone told you a reason why they were getting this type would this be a good answer- Its my birthmonths flower, i love the smell, my dad passed and the song sweet pea we would listen to and i would sing it, my dentist would sing it to me, I have scoliosis and sweet peas need support as a brace to a curved spine would need, and the seeds are poisoness leaving you paralyzed like surgery on scoliosis may do to you. Are those good reasons, and if someone told you that would you be like cool? or like....ummm... ok..
Also, i'm thinking about putting it on my ankle, are there any other good places that might look?
Sweet pea tattoo?
I think those are perfectly lovely reasons, but a tattoo is something special for you, so if those are the reasons why you have that particular design then it does not matter what other people think. And no I don't think it would look odd to have the same tattoo is different places of your body, but keep looking, over time you may come across something else that has special meaning for you.
Reply:Get whatever makes you happy. Stop worrying about what strangers think about it, I like the idea and I love that it has strong meaning for you. The ankle would be nice, also the middle of the back..kinda high up near the neck. Make sure you take time in picking out the right artist also. Check out portfolios and make sure the shop is clean.
Reply:That tattoo has alot of meaning, it is very special to you, and I think it's a great idea. I also think itll look good on your ankle, or maybe your shoulder. Good luck!!

Sweet Pea?
Does anyone know what's causing my seedlings to be growing at different rates? Some are 4-5 inches with only 1 set of leaves, some are only just showing. Also the leaves dont look too healthy. What have i done wrong?
Sweet Pea?
You have not at all necessarily done anything wrong. They often germinate at different rates; depending upon how hard the seed coat is. The lighter ones often have a very hard seed coat, although it depends upon the type. It varies. Also, it could depend upon what position they are in in the garden. If they get enough sun and water, they will develop accordingly, if they are in a poor spot, they are not quite as successful. I have been growing them for years, and they always germinate at different rates. You would have to tell more about what the leaves look like before I can say what is going on with them.
But the germination so far sounds like no problem.
Reply:be happy dont worry you have jumped the first hurdle your seeds are up and growing , let them be for a week and you will see better results as they mature

Sweet Pea?
I am trying to design a tattoo of a sweet pea for myself, but I'm not sure exactly what they look like. I mean, I KNOW what they look like, but I can never find a clear picture of the leaves and how the petals are exactly shaped. Are there any sites that show the petals up close and leaves, like an informative site on it, not just how to grow it.
What do these mean?
" The leaves are pinnate with two leaflets and a terminal tendril, this twining round supporting plants to help it climb."
What does Pinnate/leaflets, and terminal tendril look like?
Sweet Pea?
these photos may be helpful for the tattoo :)
